Journal #1

This week in SPED 310 we focused a lot on doctrines, principles, and applications. We had the opportunity to read four talks and map out the doctrines, principles, and applications for each.
(The talks we got to read were Doctrine of Inclusion, The Moving of the Water, Concern for the One, and Drenched in Gratitude: Protection from Spiritual Entitlement)

From these talks, I really learned a lot about loving everyone. I think that ultimately, we as human beings have similar feelings, purpose, wants, and needs. We are all more alike than we realize!

I also got to look at an educational philosophy statement that I wrote a few semesters ago. It was amazing to me how much I have changed in such a short time. My outlook on teaching has not necessarily changed, but it has grown more complex and specific with things that I learn and with experiences that I have had. Knowledge is power, and it can truly change us.

Blog Questions

1. When choosing a blog name is it important to consider my purpose as a teacher and the purpose of the blog. I want my blog title to be professional and easy to remember.
2. Before posting a picture of a student on my blog, you should always ask for parental permission.
3. When posting pictures on your blog, never use full names of students.
4. A blog can be so beneficial in an elementary school classroom! It makes it easy and to communicate with parents about what you are doing in school. It it also a tool that I can use to help students by giving them links to websites that will help them with homework.
